Crises around the globe continue to put vulnerable communities at risk. From the climate emergency to the debt crisis, from cost of living to the rise of fascism, the Glasgow Actions Team mobilizes around the globe to hold those responsible to account via creative direct action & earned media. 

We’re focused on holding the powerful to account and securing a livable climate where the rest of us can live in dignity.

The Glasgow Actions Team is looking to deepen our bench of contractors for our climate finance and social justice work. These are hourly, contract positions working with our existing teams on distinct projects. Some months there are lots of hours, some months there are very few or none. We’re currently recruiting for specific projects running from September 2024 to December 2024. The right candidates will be people with flexible schedules looking for occasional work on important issues.

We are especially looking to fill the following roles with individuals based in New York/DC, around continental Europe, and South America but we welcome applications from other regions too.

    • Design, coordination and execution of creative media-centric direct actions

    • Hire, supervise, and coordinate contractors and volunteers working on projects as required, including implementation teams 

    • Support the preparation of campaigning projects by providing logistical support and insights 

    • Liaise with GAT partner organizations in agenda-setting and action delivery

    • Design striking visuals for GAT actions and stunts

    • Provide creative input during the organization and execution of GAT actions and stunts

    • Land GAT images in priority outlets through developing targeted press lists, and doggedly pitching to journalists and photo desks.

    • Develop and implement strong creative media and communications strategies for GAT projects

    • Build media relationships with journalists while supporting GAT projects, both online and offline

    • Coordinate with other GAT team members contributing to our media presence

    • Act as a media liaision during actions, working with journalists and photographers to capture the most striking shots
